Case Study – Mary B | Dublin to California

In January we were contacted by Mary seeking information and a quote to move her personal effects from her home in Dublin to her New home in Chico, California, USA

After our phone consultation it was agreed that we would professionally pack all of Mary’s belongings for the relocation to the USA , A pack up and collection date was confirmed and we advised Mary of the necessary paperwork required to clear US customs,

We arranged a pre-move survey of the goods to establish the size of the move and if any of the goods required specialised packing or crating

On the moving day our crew foreman was on site to oversee the careful packing and loading of the furniture and personal effects, A detailed numbered inventory was taken of all the goods shipping to the USA and this inventory will be used by our American partner to verify all goods are received safely when the delivery and unpacking takes place.

The good were then loaded on to a 20ft container at her residence, which was then sealed and transported to Dublin port for shipping by Sea.

We then forwarded all the relevant paperwork as required for customs entry into the USA to our partner in California.

Our partner then acted as the import consultant and assisted with the customs clearance at port of arrival, Once the shipment was custom cleared, our partner made the necessary arrangements with Mary to deliver and unpack her goods.

On Mary’s delivery day we unloaded all the goods as per our Inventory , Unpacked and placed into each room the boxes and completed light assembly of her beds, cots and couches, When the crew was finished the unpacking we removed all boxes and debris from the house.

In December 2018 our imports department received notification of the client’s inbound shipment from Sydney.

Upon receiving this information the client was contacted by one of our team by e-mail to advise what documentation is needed in order to process the customs clearance in Ireland.

The client supplied the documentation required prior to the arrival of the container.

This was checked, verified and confirmed by the import Co-Ordinator to the client.

Once the container arrived into Dublin port the client was advised and the client’s paperwork was submitted to Customs at Dublin port for review and Customs clearance.

Customs responded 4 days after the paperwork was submitted to ask for further proof of residence in Ireland in this client`s case that was a utility bill or an employment letter.

This was provided by the customer and sent directly to Customs at the port.

Upon receipt, Customs then sent through a release with the transfer of residence clearance form.

With this document we could remove the container from the port and deliver the goods directly to the client’s house for unloading by our unpacking crew.

All the goods were placed to countertop and the furniture unwrapped and assembled, all discarded packaging was removed and the client signed of the delivery documents in goods order, with the comments, Excellent Service both Origin and Destination.
